How an Arabic project runs, from brief to delivery.
Every project follows the same steps, whether it is a website, an app, a video, a course or a brochure. This is what happens at each step, and what we need from you.
The steps of a project
Some steps depend on the work. Layout and in-context checks, for example, apply to designed documents, websites, apps, software and video.
You send the brief and the files
Send the real material: the document, the string files, the video or a link to the live site. Tell us who will read or hear the Arabic and in which market, when you need it, and anything we should follow, such as a glossary, a style guide or your brand fonts.
You see the price, then order
Upload your files to the instant quote and you see a fixed price straight away, worked out from the real word, page and minute count. When you order, you pay online by card or PayPal on our secure payment page, then receive a reference and a copy of the price by email. Work starts as soon as it is paid.
For a website, an app or ongoing work with no files to upload, tell us about the project on the contact page and we reply within one working day.
First-language linguists translate
Native Arabic linguists translate and adapt the text for its readers and its purpose. Interface text is written by a linguist who can see where each string appears, so buttons stay short and menus stay clear. If you have no glossary, we build one during the first project, so every later release stays consistent.
A second linguist revises the translation
A second linguist, who did not translate the text, checks the Arabic against the original. This independent revision stage is a requirement of ISO 17100, the international standard for translation services. The certificate is held by Lingo Service Translations Ltd, the company Arabic Translation Service is part of.
We check the result in context
For designed documents, our desktop publishing team mirrors the layout and resets the Arabic type, then a native Arabic linguist checks every page. Websites, apps, software and games are tested in the running product, and you receive a list of any problems with screenshots. Subtitles and voiceover are checked in the player, against the picture.
Delivery in your formats
You receive the work in your own formats: the translated document, an IDML file, your string files with keys and placeholders intact, SRT or VTT subtitles, a tested SCORM or xAPI package, or print-ready PDFs. You have a named contact for the whole project.
Corrections after delivery
If anything needs correcting once you have the files, tell your contact. Revisions are included in the price.
